Solihull Registry Office Wedding Photographer – Emily & Richard’s Stylish Celebration
As an experienced Solihull registry office wedding photographer, it’s always a genuine pleasure to photograph weddings close to home — and Emily and Richard’s beautiful celebration was one of those days that had everything. Their elegant ceremony took place at the ever-popular Solihull Registry Office, a venue we return to regularly and one that continues to impress, especially following its recent refurbishment.
With its bright ceremony rooms, clean architectural lines and welcoming atmosphere, Solihull Registry Office offers couples a relaxed yet stylish setting to say their vows. For photographers, it’s also a fantastic space to capture natural light, genuine emotion and all the small moments that tell the story of the day.
Relaxed Bridal Preparations at Home
The day began at Emily’s family home where we met her and her parents to photograph the preparations. Starting coverage in a familiar environment always helps couples feel comfortable and allows us to document authentic moments as the excitement builds. From final hair and makeup touches to emotional interactions with family members, these early hours often create some of the most meaningful images of the day.
Emily’s wedding dress was truly unforgettable. Katie and I both agreed it was one of the most beautiful and distinctive gowns we’ve seen. It fitted her perfectly and stood out thanks to its unique design — something refreshingly different from many dresses we photograph throughout the wedding season. It photographed beautifully and added a real sense of individuality and elegance to the story of the day.
A Sunny Ceremony in Solihull
Living locally means we photograph many weddings across Solihull and the wider Birmingham area. Solihull Registry Office remains one of our favourite ceremony venues thanks to its accessibility, welcoming staff and lovely surroundings for post-ceremony photographs.
Emily and Richard were also fortunate with the weather. Sunshine stayed with them throughout the day, creating perfect conditions for relaxed portraits and candid guest moments after the ceremony. Following their vows, they enjoyed a joyful confetti exit surrounded by family and friends — always a highlight to capture.
A Double Decker Bus Through Birmingham
One of the most memorable parts of the wedding was the couple’s decision to transport their guests on a bright red double-decker bus to the reception. It was a brilliant idea that created a fun, shared experience and provided endless opportunities for natural, documentary-style photography.
Journeys between venues are often overlooked when planning timelines, but they can produce some of the most genuine moments — laughter, conversations, champagne toasts and guests simply enjoying being together.
We made a planned stop at Hotel du Vin Birmingham for relaxed group photographs in a stylish city setting before continuing to the reception at the renowned Purnell’s Restaurant. The atmosphere on arrival was full of excitement as guests prepared for an evening of great food, speeches and celebrations.
A Wonderful Wedding to Remember
Emily and Richard’s wedding was a perfect example of how thoughtful planning and personal touches can create a truly memorable day. From intimate bridal preparations and a stylish civil ceremony at Solihull Registry Office to a fun city journey and elegant reception, every part of their celebration reflected their personalities beautifully.
It was a real privilege to document their story, and we wish them every happiness for the future together.
“We can’t even begin to describe just how much we love our wedding photographs – they are absolutely perfect. David really listened to our ideas when he came over to meet us initially, neither of us are particularly comfortable having our photograph taken so ideally we wanted lots of natural shots which is exactly what David gave us – we didn’t even realise that he had taken half of them, and the ones which we had to pose for David and Katie made us feel so relaxed that it was a breeze! They were so professional and caring and made our guests feel really relaxed. Thank you so much, we will treasure these photos and can’t wait to show everyone!” xx
