Hotel Du Vin Wedding – Lucy and Nick

Lucy and Nick’s wedding at the Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham was fantastic. The morning was crisp, but the sun was shining with hardly a cloud in the sky.

We arrived at Lucy’s parents house in the morning to do the bridal prep photos. We always like to start with getting photos of the details, such as the brides perfume, earrings, engagement ring and the beautiful wedding dress hanging up. We then take photos as the morning progresses and like to finish with the bride in her dress, lit with just window light. Window light is very flattering if controlled correctly and gives fantastic detail to the wedding dress. We did some family portraits in Lucy’s parents garden before driving to Birmingham to the hotel.

At the hotel we met up with Nick to get a few photos before the wedding started. The photos below tell the rest of the story including Lucy’s brother giving a surprise speech at dinner.

We finished the day with a same day slideshow of the photos we took on the day, for everyone to watch on the hotels plasma screen.
