A Beautiful Winter Wedding at Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel
I’m fortunate to be the recommended wedding photographer at Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel, a venue that continues to stand out as one of my favourites to work at. As a Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel wedding photographer, I’m always inspired by the variety this venue offers—both inside and out.
This Grade I listed country house hotel is full of character, from its historic architecture to its beautifully maintained grounds. It provides a perfect setting for my style of wedding photography, particularly when incorporating creative lighting techniques. Another added bonus is its convenience—located just 20 minutes from home, it allows me to be fully focused on delivering the best possible coverage for my couples.
Morning Preparations at One Venue
One of the biggest advantages of Robyn and Chris’s wedding day was that both of them chose to get ready at Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel. This is something I always recommend where possible.
Having both preparations in one location removes the need for travel between venues, allowing for a much more relaxed start to the day. It also gives me the opportunity to document both sides of the story seamlessly, without time pressure or compromise.
The morning had a calm, organised feel, setting the tone perfectly for the rest of the day.
A Perfectly Timed Winter Ceremony
Robyn and Chris planned their day thoughtfully, choosing a 12pm ceremony. For a winter wedding, this is ideal.
With shorter daylight hours, an earlier ceremony ensures there’s still enough natural light for outdoor photography—something that can make a huge difference to the overall gallery. Fortunately, the timing worked perfectly, giving us the opportunity to make full use of the venue’s stunning grounds.
Stunning Grounds and Elegant Interiors
Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel offers incredible versatility when it comes to photography.
Outdoor Opportunities
The grounds are a dream to work in—manicured gardens, open spaces, and historic features all provide a wide range of backdrops. Even in winter, the setting holds its charm and works beautifully for natural, relaxed portraits and group photos.
Indoor Elegance
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the interior of the hotel is just as impressive. The 16th-century building features elegant décor, grand chandeliers, and a warm, romantic atmosphere that lends itself perfectly to creative indoor photography.
A Festive Winter Atmosphere
As this wedding took place just after Christmas, the venue still carried a beautiful festive feel.
Christmas trees and seasonal decorations were thoughtfully placed throughout the hotel, adding warmth and character to the setting. It created a cosy, winter atmosphere that complemented the day perfectly and added an extra layer of visual interest to the photographs.
Light, Weather, and Memorable Moments
Despite the winter chill, the weather was kind to us. We were even treated to some lovely sunlight during the group photos, which made a noticeable difference to the overall look and feel of the images.
The day flowed effortlessly, with everything coming together just as Robyn and Chris had planned. From relaxed moments in the morning to the energy of the evening celebrations, it was a wedding full of genuine emotion and atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the evening was the use of sparklers by the guests—always a great addition and a perfect opportunity for creative, dramatic imagery to finish the day.
A Wedding to Remember
This was my final wedding of 2018, and it was a brilliant way to end the year. Robyn and Chris created a day that had everything—great planning, a stunning venue, and an atmosphere that made it a pleasure to photograph.
Working as a Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel wedding photographer is always rewarding, and this wedding was a perfect example of why.
