A Beautiful Wedding at Moxhull Hall

As a Moxhull Hall wedding photographer, it’s always a pleasure to return to this stunning venue. Dawn and John Linton’s wedding on the 1st of April was a perfect example of how special a wedding at Moxhull Hall can be.

The day was filled with great energy, thoughtful details, and a relaxed atmosphere—everything you’d want from a wedding.

A Memorable Ceremony with a Guard of Honour

John, who serves as a firefighter, wore his full ceremonial uniform for the wedding ceremony, which added a real sense of occasion and pride to the day.

One of the standout moments came just after the ceremony, when Dawn and John walked out as newlyweds through a guard of honour. It created a powerful and visually striking moment—one that worked brilliantly in photographs and added something truly unique to their wedding story.

Capturing Natural Moments with a Creative Edge

My approach to wedding photography is always about balancing natural, candid moments with creative, visually striking images—and this wedding allowed for both.

Throughout the day, we used a range of lighting techniques to enhance the final images and give them a distinctive, polished look. Dawn’s dress, in particular, had incredible detail, and with the right lighting, we were able to bring out its texture and intricacy beautifully.

Lighting Techniques Used:

  • On-camera bounce flash for clean, natural-looking light

  • Off-camera flash to add depth and drama

  • LED box lighting for controlled creative portraits

  • Diffused window light for soft, flattering tones

My assistant Katie played a key role throughout the day (doubling as a very effective “voice-controlled light stand”), helping to shape and control the light to achieve consistent, high-quality results.

A Relaxed and Enjoyable Wedding Day

One of the things I aim for at every wedding is to help couples feel completely at ease—and Dawn and John’s feedback reflects exactly that.

Many of the best moments throughout the day were captured naturally, without interruption, allowing the story of their wedding to unfold in an authentic way.

Kind Words from Dawn & John

“Dave, absolutely awesome photos, you have captured the day perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for more. You made us so relaxed, and a good portion of the photos we wasn’t even aware you were taking them—signs of an excellent photographer.

Thanks again, we will definitely continue to recommend you and continue to use you in the future. You and Katie worked so hard throughout the day and were very friendly towards all our guests. We are so happy with the photos of our wedding day. Thank you for our lasting memories.”
